Whilst FOSTEC & Company, as a leading strategy consultancy specialising in e-commerce, AI and digitalisation, develops strategies, FOSTEC Ventures takes an entrepreneurial stake in companies that translate such strategies into growth. For founders, this provides access that a pure financial investor cannot offer: an investor backed by the operational expertise and network of an established consultancy.
Grown out of strategy consulting
FOSTEC Ventures does not think from the perspective of a fund, but from that of an entrepreneur who has built, advised and managed businesses themselves. This background shapes how we assess business models and how we support our portfolio companies. We do not evaluate a venture solely on the basis of financial metrics, but according to its position in the market, the defensibility of its business model and the leverage we can actually exert through our expertise and network.
Strategy and implementation within an ecosystem
The FOSTEC Group brings together two entities to form an ecosystem. FOSTEC & Company represents the strategic side: market analysis, digital business models and growth strategies for established companies and brand manufacturers. FOSTEC Ventures represents the entrepreneurial side: taking equity stakes in companies whose development we actively help to shape. For portfolio companies, this close relationship means privileged access to decision-makers, market knowledge and initial sales contacts. This access to our network is our key differentiator. What sets us apart as investors
Three characteristics distinguish FOSTEC Ventures from a traditional venture capital fund:
- Own capital: We invest exclusively using our own capital. Our decisions are guided by entrepreneurial considerations, not by the requirements of external fund investors.
- Evergreen approach: We invest without a predetermined holding period. Our time horizon is aligned with the long-term success of the company, not with an exit deadline.
- Entrepreneur-investor: For us, the investment of capital marks the start of an active partnership. Where necessary, we get involved at an operational level rather than remaining on the sidelines as passive investors.
